The Playwright
Hi everyone its Shon again, welcome to the Playwrights Page.
As well as being the director I also co wrote My Uncle Arly (with help from David Farmer and the actors).
As the playwright it is my job to come up with an idea for the play and then with the actors, work on developing that idea. When we are pleased with what we have, I go away and write the first draft of the play.
When I am writing a script there are six very important ingredients I include. I always make sure that my script has a beginning, middle and end and I also make sure that it has clear characters, a definite setting and that somewhere in the play there is a conflict or problem which the characters must resolve.
Once I have finished the first draft and I am sure that it contains the six ingredients, I get back in the rehearsal room with the actors to try different scenes. I go through this process quite a few times until I am pleased with the script.

Shon's Challenge
Hi everyone, Shon here again with another challenge.
Every good play has a plot. Think about what plot you'd like your play to have. This week you've learned what people do in your partner community. What might be a cool thing for the characters to do in your WebPlay? Consider your research carefully before making your decision.
Good Luck
