The Designer

Steffi Hi I'm Steffi, Hoi polloi’s Designer

As the designer I am in charge of how the production looks. I have to come up with the designs for the set, the costumes and the props.

I have people who work with me in the Design Department who make sure all of my designs and ideas come to life.

I work with the Lighting Designer who helps me light each scene and the Production Manager who operates the lights and sound during a performance. The Production Manager (who is multi talented) also helps me make the props and paint the scenery.

It is my job to co ordinate these people so that everything is ready for the first performance.

The design department is a great place to work if you love being creative. Every day you get the chance to design, make or paint something that will end up being used on the stage.

Steffi's Challenge

Steffi Hi everyone, Steffi here again with a challenge.

Every play needs a setting. Your Webplay will be set in your partner community, so what I want you to do is think about what you've learned this week about that community: Where is it? What does it look like? How do people get around? Then I want you to explore your findings creatively using the Workshop Leader Video on Bodyscapes.

Good Luck
